Highway 6 to Greymouth

This morning we cooked a yummy egg breakfast before our 5.5 hour drive South to Greymouth on New Zealand's famous Highway 6, known as one of the most beautiful highways in the world. Saying goodbye to Little Greenie was difficult, but we were also excited to continue on our journey. Here is Cameron cooking breakfast:

We hit the coast about 4 hours into our drive and descended down to the beach. The sand was super soft and full of beautiful rocks that we took some time collecting:

We got to Greymouth, headed to dinner at a restaurant next door to our hotel, then went to the grocery store to stock up for the long 6.5 hour drive further South down Highway 6 tomorrow (ending destination being Wanaka, where we will do 2 days of fishing.) More on that tomorrow!

Special thank you to Brendan and Georgina for our hotel stay in Greymouth!

  1. Wow, I hit the jackpot this morning opening your blog! This is the best gift I could ever hope for, getting to share your wonderful trip with you. If you get a chance to look for rocks again, I would love a gorgeous rock like the ones you found from New Zealand's beaches :)
